1. Background

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organization to which all SOS Children’s Villages including SOS Children’s Villages Somalia Association is affiliated. SOS Children’s Villages Somalia has officially been working in Somalia since 1985. SOS is currently working in 135 countries worldwide. We are committed to the welfare of children – often throughout the whole of their childhood, and to strengthening families and communities as a preventive measure in the fight against abandonment and social neglect. We also run education and health facilities. With the SOS Children’s Village concept, the organization pioneered a family approach to the long-term care of orphaned and abandoned children. SOS Children’s Villages upholds child protection policy and our selection processes reflect our commitment to the protection of children and youth from abuse. SOS Currently works in Banadir and Bay/Bakool Regions.



The overall purpose of this assignment is to increaseand boost staff productivity and performance at the work place by conducting various team building activities, challenges and do engagement activities to strengthen team spirit, mutual trust and collaboration among staff members.

The assignment also includes improving staff communication, conflict resolution, team morale, communication and adapting to the organizational changes.


    1. Specific Objectives of the team building are:
    • Boost high performance team with result orientation.
    • Clear define core values, mission, vision with the organization
    • Strength the Collaboration and fostering innovation and creativity.
    • Inspire High level Effective Communication among team,
    • team building exercises
    • Provide Team building exercise and activities including, Bonding Activities, communication, team trust, respect, info sharing and dedication, working effective together
    • Understanding of HR role in contribution to organization success and agree HR expectation
    • Understanding emotional intelligence and how to manage in workplace


Please note the Consultant will provide and cover all costs including Booking hotels, Meals ( lunch and Diner), transportation for Berbera and facilitator costs for the two days, please send breakdown for the costs


    1. Number of Participants:


The team building is simultaneously target Human Resource Management department in Somalia. The total target are five staffs.


    1. Duration of the Team Building Exercise

The team building activities will be five days, two full days of activities, one day shopping and two days of travels. The effectivestart date of the program will be sharedonce contract is signed.

The program will be supervised direct to National HROD Manager.


    1. Location and geography

The location for team building will be Berbera for (2 days), 3 days travel and shopping in Hargeisa


    1. Proposal submission Procedure

Interested firms or individuals should submit a proposal that includes:

    1. A brief profile of the firm/Individual and the CV of the lead consultant clearly highlighting the bidder’s suitability and capacity for the provision of services required.
    2. Have conducted same team building activities and very well convinced of the process.
    3. Contact information for three professional references with whom the prospective vendor has provided similar services in the last three years.
    4. A brief summary of the proposed approaches and methodology and a
    5. Detailed work plan for the effective delivery of the team building activities and exercises.
    6. The facilitator will be allocated two(2) Day full for team building activities and exercises
    7. A financial bid for incorporating 5 Days level of effort and broken down to show the bidder’s daily rate and logistical costs mentioned above in the objectives section.


8. Process of Submission of Documents

Submission of proposals: the submission can be done electronically in wold, PDF and excel sheet format and sent to procurement@sossomalia.org

The titles of submitted documents should clearly state – terms of reference to conduct team building.
