Project title: Livelihood empowerment: Recovery potentials for displaced women and youth consolidated

Duration: 6 Months

• Background

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) operates in Somaliland since 2004. Over the period of time; NRC operations have grown and as of now NRC is working in six different regions of the country. NRC’s strategic program priority in Somaliland is to ensure that vulnerable displacement affected population including (Refugees, Asylum seekers, IDPs and poor host communities) in hard to reach areas have access to humanitarian assistance through provision of a range of support interventions programed under WASH, Shelter, ICLA, Livelihoods & Food Security and Education, as well as durable solution and resilience focused initiatives. NRC focuses both on key priority emergency responses and durable solutions through diversified livelihoods initiatives.

Under KS Relief Integrated project funded ‘for livelihood empowerment: Recovery potentials for displaced women and youth consolidated project’ NRC is looking for potential local partners (service providers) to conduct vocational skills training of male and female youth from Refugees, asylum seekers, returnees, Internally Displaced and poor host communities in community prioritized vocational skills. This is envisaged that these training will enable graduating trainees in getting self-employment and will help in establishing and or reviving their livelihoods through newly acquired skills.  For the purpose of practical trainings, NRC is looking to hire services of the partners having quality set ups for vocational skills trainings in and around Hargeisa and Berbera towns.

2. Target Groups

The target group will consist refugees, Asylum seekers, returnees, Internally displaced people and some host communities.   

• Project will target both male and Female youth between the ages of 15-24 years for Technical vocation educational skill and trading and Life skills training

Competency Requirements:

Interested companies who wish to submit their proposal should meet the below listed requirements:

• • Valid registration from Ministry of National Planning and Development
  • Valid registration from Ministry of Education & Sciences
  • Official firm offer of cost per person per month for each skills training course
  • Updated company profiles.
  • Qualifications of your technical staff (Trainers)
  • Organization’s operational strategies for Somaliland.
  • Proven certificates of experience with similar projects completed.
  • Summary of similar the list activities/projects executed in the past 3 years.
  • NRC reserves the rights to physically check the applicant’s facilities before the award

Manner of Submission:

Interested applicants should submit their bids in a sealed envelope to the tender box before Tuesday 06^th October,2020 at 12:00 PM. Please mark your tender as follows: Vocational Skills Training Courses (TENDER NOTICE-NRC/19/SL/007).

The applications will be opened at NRC Hargeisa office by 7^{th October} 2020 at 2:00PM       while only selected applicants will be notified.
