TENDER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 80M X 40M X4M EARTH DAM AT AWRBOGEYS VILLAGE, BUHOODLEH.SOMALILAND

1. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

• • About Norwegian Refugee Council and the Project

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has been present in Somaliland since early 2006. Over these years, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has demonstrated a regional competence and expertise in working with displaced populations with programs in Food Security, Education, Water and Sanitation, Shelter, Information Counselling and Legal Assistance. Since 2013 NRC has become one of the leading actors in Implementing resilience programs in Somaliland.

1.2 Scope of the work; –

Construction of a large Dam of 80m long, 40m wide and 4m deep with HDP lining at Darusalaam village, Buhoodleh. Dam construction will include storage tanks, one shallow well for water collection, solar system, animal troughs and one kiosk. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will be undertaken in order to identify potential negative environmental impacts of the project and put mitigation measures in place.

NOTE: If you win this contract, there will be government revenue tax that will be applied to your contract and NRC may withhold the last payment until the vendor presents the tax receipt and at the same time NRC reserves the right to share the contract details with the tax authorities.

Manner of Submission:

Interested applicants can collect the bid documents from NRC Hargeisa office, Airport Road, Behind Ambassador Hotel or NRC Burao office during the period in between 16^th to 27^th September 2020 (from 8:00am to 12:pm)

Applications will be submitted within a sealed envelope and inserted into the tender box in NRC Hargeisa office and the deadline should not be later than 30^th September 2020 at 4:00pm. Companies that submit their quotation after the deadline will not be considered.

The bid opening will publicly happen at NRC Hargeisa office on Thursday, 1^st October 2020 at 10:00AM with the presence of bidder’s representatives who choose to attend and at the opening session, it will only be announced the name of the Bidder and the Bid Price(s) but NO further information that will be disclosed at this session.
