CALL FOR CONCEPTS FROM LOCAL NGO’S IN BOSASO – SOMALIA.

Background

The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is a Quaker organization that includes people of various faiths who are committed to social justice, peace, and humanitarian service. AFSC promotes nonviolent approaches to conflict resolution. As such, we seek to promote the transformation of cultural and societal norms, values, and behaviors to reject violence, with Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship as our values.

American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is seeking concepts from qualified applicants Local NGOs for a 3-year small grant of up to USD 73,700.00, to support the rights and protection of vulnerable migrants in Bosaso.

Objective:

  1. Civil Society Organizations advocating and Positively influencing Local decision making in favor of Migrants rights and protection.

The envisioned outcome of the project will be that vulnerable migrants are aware of their rights and are protected by the relevant authorities. This is a competitive bidding and non-profit Somalia organizations with a strong presence in Bosaso and have vast experience in implementing social justice, migration work and advocacy projects are encouraged to apply. Qualification for Partnerships with AFSC will be based on ability of the applicants to create the greatest impact on Migrant rights in Bosaso and best value for money.

This request for concept does not constitute a partnership commitment on the part of AFSC, nor does it commit AFSC to pay for costs incurred in the preparation and submission thereof. Once the concepts are received, a rigorous review process will be undertaken and the organizations that best respond to the afore-mentioned objective will be requested to submit full proposals for review and implementation.
